Lovely visit with free entry. Especially suitable for families with younger children. Dinosaur exhibits in the winter garden areas and rooms covering prehistory through the industrial heritage of the area. It is unfortunate that the cafe is closed at present and families will appreciate that facility if/when it can reopen.

Was really quiet we did go just before the garden and rest of the museum closed so I would recommend going in the morning.

Loved visiting the Museum, really educational and set out in such a way that it's entertaining for Adults and Children. Pottery, Mining, Fossils, Wildlife, Boats, Glass & even a glimpse into typical life for previous decades.I expected to be here for 20mins but was kept interested for over 2 hours. It was a shame that the cafe was still closed though. But there is a Wetherspoons across the road so it wasn't too bad. Toilets were available and a satisfactory standard. I believe the accessible toilets were inside of the Men's & Women's, with touchpad door openers at every door. There was also a separate Baby changing room. Winter gardens was lovely & Mowbrey Park was stunning & good fun to walk around. Overall it's a gem of a place to visit.

Had loads of exhibitions. The contemporary art section was the best, I believe they should showcase more

Lots of interesting exhibits, especially about local history, and a mix of art and natural history. Kids love the winter gardens and a look around. Only complaint is there's nowhere you're allowed to eat or drink inside (and no cafe any more) which makes it a bit difficult with young kids for any length of time, especially in winter / on raining days.
